- Today, technology is used to commit a wide array of crimes. On top of this, a whole new genre of crimes have emerged aimed just at computer devices themselves – and the number of such crimes is large.
- The police are often the first to respond to criminality and to provide assistance to the victims. However, the world is changing. Criminality is moving online and achieving policing goals, therefore, presents specific challenges within the context of online crime.
- Society needs to rethink policing goals and approaches to criminality. What might that change look like for the police? Three possible directions are outlined in this report.
