Memphis Blues: Keyinfluencer and the FedEx fail
When you're a stranger in town, it's all too easy to offend through a simple cultural slip-up; it's why global enterprises shell out for cultural training for staff.
Frankly though, anyone who's made it through Sales 101 should know better than to make the same mistake that Ketchum vice-president did when visiting the Memphis HQ of clients FedEx.
Andrews tweeted to the world "True confession but i’m in one of those towns where I scratch my head and say I would die if I had to live here!".
Guess he forgot the locals might be listening too - not surprisingly, it didn't go down too well.
Final irony? Andrews' Twitter name at the time was keyinfluencer. Perhaps keyalienator would be more appropriate?
