Haiti home covered in mud

CARE used Google Earth to help people in Haiti who were displaced by October’s hurricane. People’s homes were covered in mud and flood water, and many are still living in local school buildings. CARE used Google Earth to take an aerial picture of the sites where people who lost their homes can be rehoused. Map-drawing software was then used to create detailed maps of the site. “It made planning the development of the sites much easier,” said Babister.
