Here's the reason Kenneth kept his Motorola 6809: "Apart from nostalgia, I keep the machine because I developed a range of gadgets including a fuel gauge, tachometer and autopilot using 6809 processors for a friend’s yacht. We have since replaced the autopilot with one using an up-to-date microprocessor, but the fuel gauge and tachometer are still giving good service. As they say, 'if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!' "

We're inviting Computer Weekly readers to send us photos and videos of the oldest IT equipment they've held on to, and to share their excuses for hoarding it.

We had around 70 photos last year!
