Sony PlayStation (1995) with Castlevania Symphony of the night - Retro consoles
You can't talk about consoles without mentioning Sony. In the early nineties Sony had nothing to do with consoles until they launched the PlayStation which trounced Nintendo's N64 and eventually killed Sega's console production line. What made the PlayStation so great was the amount and variety of games largely due to the fact it was CD based, as oppose to cartridges, which was cheaper to manufacture. The most memorable titles were Tomb Raider, Crash bandicoot and the Final Fantasy series. I've included Castlevania Symphony of the night in the picture just because it's rare and a prized possession of mine.
