Network Rail

Recruiter Information

As a company, we’ve embarked on a transformation programme to define our vision for the future and develop the right skills and processes to deliver it. The programme will help create a sustainable transport system for Britain, with Network Rail becoming an organisation focused on delivering for passengers and freight users, seven days a week. We are a forward looking company – one that plays an integral part in the UK economy. Our task now is to build on the progress we have made so that we can transform Britain’s railway into a world-class infrastructure, with a world-class operational standard. With all the huge projects on the horizon, and the plans we have to further improve our delivery capabilities, we’re well on the way to achieving our goals.

Part of this means constantly investing, developing and improving. Currently, we’re working on one of the biggest projects that this industry has ever seen: the national digital radio & fibre network programme, incorporating both Fixed Telecoms Networks (FTN) and Global System for Mobile – Railways (GSM-R). In short, it’s up to us to transform rail telecoms. Our budget is over £1.7bn. We aim to have the majority of this work completed by 2012.

To make it happen, we need the most talented and committed of people, including Project/Programme Managers, Development Managers, Programme Control Managers, Senior Commercial Managers and Telecoms/Civil Project Engineers. Whichever role you join us in, you’ll be at the heart of a rail revolution. You’ll drive forward not only this, but also other landmark projects – such as Crossrail and Thameslink – which are relying on its success.

This could be your legacy. Make no mistake: these projects are as challenging as they are high-profile. But that’s exactly what you’re looking for. Find out more about the opportunities and benefits at www.networkrail.co.uk/careers
