Senior Physicist / Engineer, Cambridge

Navigation has partnered with a market leader within technology and innovation, known for its ability to solve technical problems and provide creative and practical solutions to business issues, in the search for an experienced Senior Physicist / Engineer.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:-
• Provide innovation and technical leadership during the complete project life cycle.
• Architect a technical solution gathered from a loose client brief.
• Take responsibility for technical solution, working closely with the team as well as interfacing at a senior level within the client organisation.

Assignments typically involve the design of sensing systems for complex physical sensing problems; including the development of novel sensing hardware and signal processing algorithms using sophisticated mathematical techniques.

The successful candidate will possess the following:-
• Experience of product development preferably within a Consultancy or fast moving organisation.
• Proven technical leadership experience in a commercial environment.
• Broad engineering skills, including electronics hardware, software and mechanical engineering.
• An understanding of a wide range of physical sensing technologies.
• A good first degree or PhD in Physics or a related Engineering discipline
• Excellent mathematical and practical problem solving skills.

It would be highly advantageous to have experience of any of the following:-
• Commercial negotiations and the sales process.
• Algorithm development for sensing applications.
• Radio system design for communications, radar or location.
