Women in IT 2016: Elaine Baker, BAE Systems

In this video, Elaine Baker, the applied intelligence engineering director at BAE Systems talks about the responsibility companies should have over ensuring they are promoting a diverse workforce.

Elaine shares her experiences and recommendations for what organisations can do to drive change in an organisation, starting from a senior level and filtering down.

To encourage diversity in its own organisation, BAE Systems supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through its engineering apprenticeships scheme.

Elaine has past engineering experience across many sectors including financial services and the public sector, having held roles in Capita, Barclays, CSC and Xansa.
