CW500: Marcus East, Comic Relief head of future media & technology

The IT supporting this year's Red Nose Day fundraising successfully processed a peak of 214 donations per second - an 84% increase over the previous event in 2009, a figure which was already more than five times Amazon's Christmas traffic at that time.

Planning, implementing and maintaining an IT set-up that is cost-effective, secure and provides the peak-time scale that Comic Relief needs for its main fundraising day, is paramount.

In this CW500 Club video, Comic Relief head of future media & technology Marcus East talks to Computer weekly editor in chief Bryan Glick about managing such a unique high-availability IT operation.
