Women in IT 2016: Panel session – recruiting a diverse workforce

How can firms in the IT industry ensure they are attracting, recruiting and retaining diverse technology talent?

In this video Sinead Bunting, European director of consumer marketing at Monster, Heather Picov, head of communications and communities at Apps for Good, Emma Chalwin, UKI marketing leader from Salesforce and Melinda Roylett, EMEA senior director and head of small and medium business at PayPal discuss how to recruit diverse talent in the IT industry.

Not only is the tech industry still a boy’s club, but the number of people in tech jobs from minority backgrounds is also slim.

Here Bunting, Picov, Chalwin and Roylett discuss the barriers in the way of women when applying for tech roles, how firms can ensure they are attracting more diverse candidates and how we can work on the pipeline to encourage more people into tech in the future.

This video is part of a series of talks that took place at the annual Computer Weekly women in IT event showcasing some of the great women in the tech sector.

Very informative video. Not many think about the minorities being just a scarce commodity as well in IT.
