David Ivell, The Prince's Trust: Handling risk aversion in innovation initiatives

Risk is good. Innovation stalls without the ability to take it, but stretching boundaries and imagining the future comes with risk and discomfort for many. Innovation has to be done at pace especially in consumer facing markets. How do you innovate at accelerated pace, maintain a culture of change and carry the organisation with you? David will explain how the Prince’s Trust is changing its approach to risk in the light of ambition and rapid growth.

David Ivell, CIO at The Prince's Trust, aims to exploit technology and innovation to transform the engagement, relationship and journey of the young people supported by The Prince’s Trust, using technology led transformation to achieve something extraordinary for disadvantaged young people. He has 30 years’ experience in the IT industry as a CIO, CTO, business transformation and IT director in organisations such as IBM, Credit Suisse, the British Film Institute and Royal Botanic Gardens Kew.
