IT services company Entranet is doing its best to convince potential recruits to the IT industry that it's a sexy career to choose and that it's not dominated by boring geeks talking gobbledegook, writes Antony Savvas.
Inspired by the Government's well publicised campaign to make the IT industry more attractive, Entranet is using a series of advertisements to demonstrate that the industry is filled with interesting types. These range from former bass players with pop group Thompson Twins to ex-RAF squadron leaders.
The only problem is that Entranet is asking its staff to take their clothes off in the adverts to do it. Entranet's IT workers may be sexier but they're certainly not prettier than anywhere else.
Perhaps this is why Entranet pays bounties to anyone who can find it the right staff in the middle of the skills crisis.
Judging by the adverts so far, the people it employs look like extras from a spaghetti Western, if not the Full Monty.
