US iPhone hacker eyes a more cerebral challenge

Hacking the brain should be simple for George Hotz (aka geohot), the 17-year-old student who first unlocked Apple's iPhone, making it usable on GSM networks other than AT&T's.

The budding neuroscientist's path through academia is certainly likely to be more luxurious than that experienced by most students. Writing in his blog, Hotz says he has traded his unlocked iPhone with Terry Daidone, the founder of Certicell, for a Nissan 350z and three 8Gbyte iPhones.

But the most intriguing wrinkle in this story is the news that Apple co-founder and former phone phreak Steve Wozniak is to speak at Hotz's university later this year.
