The Communications Management Association's Electronic Communications Risks and Security Special Interest Group will begin an industry education and conference programme this autumn to promote best practice.

Don Breadner, who heads the group, said, "The issues around security have to be addressed in a holistic way by enabling the cross-fertilisation of ideas across the CMA and industry."

Breadner said the group was planning a series of events for managers concerned about risk and security.

The first event, Securing the Enterprise, will take place on 5 October in London. It will cover the threats and risks organisations face, the legal and regulatory aspects of these, and technology that can fight them.
