Finance house signs £80m outsourcing dealFirst National Tricity Finance (FNTF) has signed an outsourcing
deal with Experian worth £80m over five years. The retail finance
house will gain customer management systems to support marketing,
credit scoring, services for teleservicing and a new customer
contact centre. FNTF hopes the deal will enable it to concentrate
on core business.
Aris partners maritime dot com
Aris will become the technical partner of Internet start-up
setfair.com in an initial £2m deal. The software
house will supply the maritime e-business with systems and trading
applications for its Unix-based e-business platform. Aris will also
be responsible for software, hardware, integration, support and
maintenance for setfair.com, which will supply the international
shipping industry.
Manpower gets NT recruitment software
Bond International Software will be working with Manpower
following a £1m deal to provide its NT version of Adapt recruitment
software. The system will be used in conjunction with a new
e-commerce system by 200 Manpower sites in the UK. It will enable
staff to access corporate information online and in real time.
Esoft builds secure virtual private network
Esoft Global is to build a secure virtual private network (VPN)
for transport, property and industry consultants WS Atkins. The VPN
will connect WS Atkins' offices around the world as well as giving
mobile workers access to the company's information systems. The £1m
contract will use technology from Check Point Software, Uunet,
Nokia and RSA Security.
Esteem supplies oil and gas firms
Esteem Computers has done some successful prospecting in
Aberdeen, taking orders for Sun Microsystems hardware totalling
more than £750,000 from oil and gas industry companies. Integrated
energy firm Conoco has installed three dual-headed high-end
graphical workstations, oil and gas producer Talisman Energy UK
wants an Enterprise 5500 server and Ultra 80 workstations, and
Kerr-McGee, an energy and chemical specialist, is buying a Sun
Enterprise 3500 server with 14 workstations.
