The London Borough of Wandsworth is to install a new IT infrastructure with a view to streamlining its server, desktop and storage estate.
The council is working with Unisys to reduce operational costs by making its IT systems more efficient and flexible in offering services to over 280,000 residents.
Once installation is completed, Wandsworth Council will receive complete hardware servicing and maintenance support for the remainder of the five-year contract.
The Council and Unisys have pledged to work together to provide an infrastructure that improves availability and adaptability whilst lowering operational costs and reducing the council’s carbon footprint.
Unisys has carried out a comprehensive assessment of the council’s existing IT portfolio before undertaking a programme of rationalisation for the council’s key ICT services.
