Computer Weekly's search for the best use of social media in IT is back for its fourth year, brought to you in association with IBM, and the 2011 competition promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Social media is an increasingly important tool for communication, collaboration and sharing experiences among the UK IT community, so we’ve expanded our successful blog awards into the Social Media Awards.
We want to find out about the best uses of social media technology as well as which bloggers and Twitter users you turn to. The Social Media Awards will reward and recognise the best that the UK IT industry has to offer.
We want to know what you think are the best social media initiatives that are used either internally or externally to help collaboration, reach, awareness or for any other reason that you feel is worthy of an award. We want to find the organisations that are making the best use of social media as well as the best initiatives.
Whether you are a social media voice yourself, an active commenter, or just a reader, we want to know who has got you hooked. You can even nominate yourself – although what happens after that is up to your peers across the industry.
So to kick off the Awards we're asking IT professionals to submit their nominations (below) to us. Those that are nominated will be listed on this site, and from all the nominations received we will draw up a shortlist for each category which will then be put back to the public vote.
The Awards will reward the best and most innovative uses of social media in UK IT at an awards ceremony on 30 November at the Delfina club in London.
