Mobile World Congress is the largest mobile industry trade show. But forget the domination of the US or China – this event is held at the heart of Europe in the fantastic Catalonian city of Barcelona.
All the big guns of the industry will be there in 2014 – from Samsung launching its latest flagship device to the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, preaching how the future is mobile.
But small firms and start-ups will also have their chance to shine on the world stage and the UK is sending quite an army to show off our technical skills.
Computer Weekly attended an event hosted by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) to showcase the mobile talents who are printing off their boarding passes and gearing up for the show next week.
We interviewed several of the innovators and asked them what they were hoping to get from the show, as well as their experiences of competing globally.
Watch our video below for answers from the likes of uMotif – winner of the Cisco British Innovation Gateway (BIG) award – Intercede and Capito.
Computer Weekly will be attending the show next week so be sure to visit the website for all the news and views from the floor.
