IR35 to drive 43% of contractors abroad

Tina Milton

As the IR35 legislation comes into force from April 5 onwards, 43% of contractors still intend to look for work abroad, a survey of over 200 contractors by recruitment agency DP Connect has revealed.

Contractors claim overwhelmingly that the proposals would not only deepen the IT skills crisis but also increase IT overheads. Toni Cocozza, managing director of DP Connect said, "Does Gordon Brown understand the contradiction of his actions? To drive British contractors abroad at the same time as replacing them with foreigners is just nonsense."
