Economy lurches towards online trading
Forty five per cent of companies are currently not generating any sales through e-commerce, but 91% of them expect this to change by 2002
Huge shift to online trading by 2002 A survey of 333 firms that attended or registered to attend the e-commerce Expo 2000 held in Birmingham last March found that more than 50% of companies were still placing a major proportion of their e-business projects under the control of their IT department. Only 31% of companies said that they had a specific e-business team that managed the implementation of e-business within their organisation.
