Users can now overcome incompatibility between Office 2007 and older versions with a free download of .docx converter.
The file extension .docx format introduced in Office 2007 is not compatible with older versions of Microsoft Word, or alternative operating systems such as Linux or Max OS X.
Docx is also incompatible with other word processing applications like OpenOffice, Lotus 123, or NeoOffice.
DOCX-Converter.com has developed a free tool to get around the incompatibility.
Justin Handley, webmaster of DOCX-Converter.com, said: “DOCX-Converter.com will convert a Microsoft Office .docx file into a simple html file.”
The .docx converter supports formatting such as bold, italic, and underlined text. It also supports left, right, centre, and justified alignment, as well as Unicode characters and tables.
Other file converters that you can use without downloading software can be found on the web too, such as Zamzar.
