IBM has is developing a business intelligence (BI) product that combines servers, storage and software into a single fully integrated package.
The IBM Data Warehousing Balanced Configuration Unit (BCU) combines IBM eServer pSeries p5-575 servers, the TotalStorage DS4500 platform and the DB2 Data Warehouse Edition database software into a single, scalable package, which can run in Unix, Linux or AIX operating environments.
“By providing a pre-tested BCU option, IBM is able to offer efficient and high throughput performance configurations for database queries, allowing faster analysis of data,” said Karen Parrish, IBM vice-president for business intelligence solutions.
“Our clients will be able to stay ahead of their competitors by acting more quickly on information,” she said.
