Swyx has launched Swyxware VoIP PBX v4.4 to reduce the cost of deploying IP telephony.

Targeted at enterprises that already use WiFi networks, the new product supports SIP-compatible phones and other devices. The company said it would help all types of businesses to deploy and run IP telephony solutions simply and cost-effectively.

Because the software-based IP PBX does not need a dedicated router, it can halve connection charges for every user, according to Swyx.

Swyx is rolling out a series of SIP developments during the course of 2005, designed to give companies the full benefits of WiFi, both within the boundaries of the office and in public access hotspots.
