Michael Robertson, Linspire chief executive, said, "Linspire Five-0 is easy to use, it finally makes Linux practical for anyone - from a Fortune 500 executive to a child researching a school essay."
Linspire Five-0 comes with the OpenOffice.org application suite, a web browser, e-mail and instant messaging clients, multi-media viewers, photo and music managers, and calendaring tools.
Linspire claims a new install of the operating system "typically takes less than 10 minutes". One criticism of Linux generally is that it can be difficult for non-technical users to install.
Linspire Five-0 is available for download for £28 at www.linspire.com/buylinspire
