MIS Corporate Defence Solutions (MIS CDS) is offering a free trial for up to five weeks over the festive period of its mobile e-mail solution available, OpenHand.

OpenHand offers, real-time, remote access to e-mail, calendar, contacts and tasks. Any company running MS Exchange can take advantage of this offer for any number of employees using a Windows based laptop, PocketPC, Palm OS3 and above or Sony Ericsson P800 or P900 smartphone or PDA starting from 6 December and ending on 11 January 2005.

“Products such as RIM’s BlackBerry are helping to push up the numbers of remote e-mail users, but are also pushing up IT departments spend, but budgets are tight and this is a cost that many companies could do without," said Graham Higginson, managing director of OpenHand.

“With the Christmas period arriving, more employees will be wanting to access their e-mails from home,” he added.

MIS CDS says that its solutions is a more reasonably priced and secure alternative to Blackberry. With OpenHand there is no contract or monthly fee to pay. A one-off charge entitles users to a server licence and a number of user licenses which can be used on any supported platform.
