Andrew Abboud has left his job as chief information officer at City University to take up a post at Laureate Education Group.
City University has confirmed the CIO's resignation. Abboud started his new role, which is based in Switzerland, this week.
The IT executive had been working at City University for more than two years, having held several other senior technology posts at various organisations, including consultancy firms Detica and PA Consulting, as well as PwC.
Abboud has been replaced by an interim CIO, André Snoxall.
According to Snoxall's LinkedIn profile, he is "leading [City University's] information technology, information systems, university library, audiovisual services, registry and information governance functions through a period of change".
