The British Computer Society has announced the shortlist for its IT Professional Awards, which are organised in association with Computer Weekly.
Commenting on the shortlist, BCS president Charles Hughes said, "The awards generate role models for the industry and they set aspirational standards for others. They put in place a set of aims and they indicate the standards of excellence in a critical way.
"They bring with them a sense of pride and an opportunity to celebrate as an industry."
Some 70 individuals and organisations made it to the final stage. The winners will be announced in December at a gala evening for more than 1,500 guests at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
