MB Context claims to turn information into Insight

Business intelligence consultancy claims to have revolutionised Cognos environment reporting

Business intelligence consultancy Morgan Benjamin has launched a tool that it claims will revolutionise the way reporting is currently carried out within a Cognos environment.

As technology enables organisations to gather, store and disseminate larger and larger amounts of data, the need to interpret the data correctly and interact with it faster becomes ever more key, argues Morgan Benjamin. Hence the new software is intended to allow users to share knowledge online and in real time and create business intelligence that is tailored to the individual needs of the user.

In recognition that contextual information is as important as the data on which it is based and should therefore be stored in the same way, MB Context will allow Cognos users to interact with reports and data, add context and share this information to customised groupings.

Key features include the ability to add insight to BI and store that data securely in the same location as the database; the opportunity to interact with business processes by flagging documents actioned; the enhancement of compliance initiatives by enabling BI tools to support workflow; the ability for Cognos users to define the way categories relevant to them are grouped; feedback option on reports such as users requesting adjustments, filter enhancements, chart modifications or distribution list changes.
