Oracle has launched PeopleTools 8.48, the latest version of the tool that supports users developing and deploying PeopleSoft Enterprise applications.
The announcement follows last month’s release of PeopleSoft Enterprise 9 - a move aimed at reassuring PeopleSoft users that Oracle was committed to supporting the software, after its acquisition of PeopleSoft in January 2005.
Oracle has again sought to emphasise its commitment to the PeopleSoft line by certifying PeopleTools to work with its Fusion Middleware range, allowing users to combine PeopleSoft Enterprise applications with other Oracle products such as XML Publisher.
PeopleTools 8.48 has also been designed to help users adopt a service oriented architecture, to create and support web services and to integrate legacy software with PeopleSoft Enterprise applications.
The new release includes enhanced visual compare and merge functions and new web services functions, including a web service designer with a configuration and deployment wizard. It also includes a tools to help users analyse the impact of patches or changes to applications before deploying them.
