CA buys Tiny for firewall security

Computer Associates has acquired desktop and server security company Tiny Software to expand its security solutions range.

Computer Associates has acquired desktop and server security company Tiny Software to expand its security solutions range.

Tiny sells the Tiny Personal Firewall, and its products will be rolled into CA’s eTrust integrated threat management software portfolio. 

CA, an established anti-virus software provider, recently added anti-spyware and anti-spam technology to its product set.

Tiny’s solutions are currently licensed to Microsoft, Unisys and the US Air Force. 

The US-based company recently released Tiny Firewall 64, the first native firewall and system protection solution for 64-bit Windows operating systems.  

The price CA paid for privately held Tiny has not been disclosed.
