Storage architecture provider McDATA has opened a European Briefing Centre (EBC) in Munich to provide training facilities for partners and customers.
In addition to training, the company sees the facility as acting as a solutions lab where it can pre-build and test planned configurations for its customers.
McDATA sees the EBC as providing total support for a company's storage infrastructure decisions. These include connecting datacentres, improving the overall IT infrastructure ROI, providing disaster recovery contingency and business continuity protection, and ensuring storage management and security are optimised across the business.
Other aims include delivering seamless datacentre consolidation and migration and mitigating the risk of non-compliance with new data regulations. McDATA adds that it should enable new applications and services to be taken to market more rapidly.
"[The EBC] will help our customers and partners to accelerate decisions and take more informed and profitable decisions for their storage infrastructure," says Daniel Sazbon, vice-president, channels EMEA, McDATA.
