Novell adds to JBoss open source middleware
Delegates at Novell's Brainshare conference last week were given an insight into how Novell plans to make Linux attractive as an...
Novell announced it would be extending support and contributing code and engineering resources to the open source JBoss Enterprise Middleware System (Jems). Novell also said it would actively participate in the architectural design and direction of JBoss projects, including JBoss portal.
Through the collaboration the two companies said they would offer a fully supported application platform which would tackle cost, complexity and time needed to deliver service-based, identity-aware applications.
As a first step, Novell said it would contribute its Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP) standard-based portlet container and portlet library to help accelerate the delivery of JBoss Portal, a component of the Jems stack, to the market.
