The not-for-profit company set up to promote open-source technology has released Sunbird 0.2 as a standalone product that can be used on Windows, Linux and Apple platforms. Mozilla also plans to integrate Sunbird with its Thunderbird e-mail system.
Integrating the two products would provide users with an open-source alternative to Microsoft’s Outlook system.
Mozilla’s open-source Firefox browser is already providing increasing competition to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser.
