Dell claims 25% saving on services
Dell launched its Professional Services arm in the UK last week, promising 25% savings on prices offered by traditional service...
The hardware firm is offering ITservices across five main areas: storage, Microsoft, Linux, Oracle, and customer training.
However, Alan MacNeela, research vice-president at analyst firm Gartner, warned that not all users could expect 25% savings. "If Dell provides services to a user that is already using Dell equipment, there is a possibility for cost savings," he said.
"But in a heterogenous environment it is important to look for comparisons between Dell's offering and offerings from other suppliers that may cover other makes of equipment."
