Palm is attempting to make amends for overstating the number of colours available on its m130 handheld by offering users a cash refund or a free game.

The company has been sued by two m130 users over the company's claims in its marketing that the device could display over 65,000 colours. Palm admitted in early August that the m130 could actually only display 58,621 colours after the company launched its own investigation into user questions about the alleged 65,000 colours.

Palm has posted a page on its Web site under the Knowledge Library section apologising for the marketing problem and directing users to a download page where the popular city-planning game SimCity is available to m130 owners.

Users who are not so easily mollified can apply to receive a cash refund for the full purchase price including tax if they have proof of purchase.
