Demand for IT staff was low throughout November and December of last year, according to the latest survey from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation.

Figures from the UK's recruitment industry reveal that demand for both permanent and contract staff started falling steadily in the last quarter of 2000. By December, demand for ITers had fallen to a 13-month low. However, the rate of growth was falling in most industry areas during the year.
