Foundry has released two switches aimed at enterprise users and e-commerce operations as well as a core enterprise switch for behind the firewall, writes Antony Adshead.

The Web switch, ServerIron 4802, manages traffic from layer 2 to layer 7 and lets customers set policies so that traffic is routed to specific servers, depending on the type of request received.

The behind-the-router FastIron III is a layer 3 Lan switch and has more Fast and Gigabit Ethernet ports than previous Foundry offerings. Switching capacity is 480gbps.
