3Par opens Aussie office

Up-and-coming storage vendor 3Par has opened an Australian office and seems to be looking for both channel partners and customers, and may also be servicing existing local users.

3Par has opened an Australian office, naming Steve Kelly - a veteran of Hitachi Data Systems, IBM/Tivoli, F5 Networks, and BEA Systems - as its Regional Manager.

The company describes Kelly's appointment as "Part of an ongoing expansion within the larger Asia-Pacific region," and as being  "driven by the requirements of global customers operating in the region."

The press release from which the above quotes are drawn also features Kelly saying that “Australia and New Zealand are vibrant markets that have not only escaped the worst of the global financial crisis, but have long been early adopters of disruptive new technology."

3PAR CEO President and CEO David Scott- preditctably - says hiring Kelly is a jolly good idea, as thanks to "his strong background in sales and in developing reseller channels, Steve is well positioned to help bring the efficiency, agility, and green benefits of 3PAR Utility Storage to enterprise, service provider, and government customers in Australia and New Zealand.”

The company's regional headquarters remains in Singapore.

SearchStorage ANZ has requested an interview with Kelly.
