Healthcare IT supplier iSoft has told investors today that it is on track to go live with the NPfIT Lorenzo 1.9 Care Records Service at Morecambe Bay, Cumbria.

Computer Weekly understands that a successful go-live at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust will trigger a payment by the government of tens of millions of pounds to CSC, the National Programme for IT (NPfIT) local service provider to NHS trusts in England, outside of London and the South. CSC's main software subcontractor is iSoft.

A successful launch at Morecambe Bay would also be critical to a new deal ministers are hoping to sign with CSC - and the other NPfIT local service provider, BT - before the end of this month.

But it is unclear whether the go-live at Morecambe Bay will happen by the end of this month. Computer Weekly understands that the NHS has set a new date for the Morecambe Bay launch in April.
