Online travel agent Cheapflights is rolling out an enterprise content management system to improve the way it delivers time-sensitive content such as special offers and resort information.
Cheapflights is six weeks into the implementation of Percussion Software’s Rhythmyx system. It is integrating Rhythmyx into a bespoke data management system, which it uses to identify and sort up to 15 million deals a day from its travel industry partners.
The content management system will help Cheapflights to push out information on more than one million flight, holiday and accommodation deals, said the firm.
Milenko Beslic, head of technology at Cheapflights, said the firm chose Rhythmyx because of its use of the XML web standard – allowing Cheapflights to reduce implementation time by using its existing technology.
“The advanced workflow management and integration with standard word processing applications were also a key feature for our teams,” added Beslic.
Beslic said the firm looked at several options before settling on its content management system.
