Saint-Gobain industrial group awards O2 mobile comms contract

Antony Savvas

O2 has won a contract with global industrial group Saint-Gobain to provide voice, Blackberry e-mail and other mobile data services to users in the UK and Ireland.

The deal will see around 6,000 connections transferred to the O2 network, following Saint-Gobain's extensive operator evaluations.

O2 will work closely with Saint-Gobain to support areas such as field force communication applications.

Ian Collinson of Saint-Gobain said, "The relationships that have been established with O2 over the last few months are a credit to both teams. O2 has clearly demonstrated the trust and confidence that we look for in a business partnership."

O2 this week announced the establishment of a dedicated professional services unit for enterprises.
