Downtime's mailbag continues to bulge. Thanks to Malc Seaman for offering the following piece of advice for helpdesk professionals.
"When I need to fix an IT 'problem' in our office the usual solution is to just 'stand on the button'.
"Most issues seem to be resolved when the user tries to replicate the problem with me standing next to them. It seems that when I stand on that invisible button next to each user's desk no more problem!

"A remote control that allows IT professionals to operate that invisible button from the comfort of their own desk would be a marvellous time-saver!
"IT helpdesk staff's time could then be more usefully utilised in eating paninis from the Italian take-away-erama downstairs."
