Mozilla is distributing the latest version of the Minimo mobile device browser, which is trying to compete with Microsoft’s Windows Mobile browser.
Mozilla distributes the popular open source Firefox browser for desktops and laptops.
Minimo 0.2, which is also open source, is designed to offer fast access to mobile content via the browser’s Homebase start page.
It also supports Web 2.0 features using Javascript and Ajax, and offers features such as Social Bookmarking, tabbed browsing, RSS support, and widget and extension support.
Minimo 0.2 can be used in conjunction with the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system. Users of Windows Mobile 4.2 can use Minimo version 0.016 instead.
