Sybase acquires Solonde

Antony Savvas

Sybase has acquired German company Solonde to bolster its data integration offering to customers. It aims to offer firms a more comprehensive view of their data from a bigger variety of sources.

Sybase will also use Solonde’s technology to improve its IQ analytics server platform and its Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) data management system. Solonde’s grid technology is designed to support all major databases, flat files, XML data, web-based services and the SAP R/3 platform.

Last autumn, Sybase upgraded its ASE database by adding encryption technology, enhanced support for XML data, as well as improving the overall performance of the product.
The financial terms of the Solonde acquisition were not disclosed by Sybase.
