The Training Camp, a Microsoft Certified Partner for Learning Solutions, has set up a four-day intensive course for its new RFID+ certification. The course has been developed with trade body the Computing Technology Industry Association.
CompTIA's European regional director, Matthew Poyiagdi, said, "A vast number of companies are under RFID mandates and the RFID+ certification will enable companies to determine the ability of their employees and partners to deliver guaranteed RFID solutions in as short a time as possible."
Both IT contractors and employees who attend the course will be taught how to install, configure and maintain RFID tags and the systems that manage them. The qualification covers interrogation zone basics, testing and troubleshooting, standards and regulations, tag knowledge, design selection and site analysis.
Students will also be taught about the difficulties of reading RFID tags when different materials, such as metal and rubber, are present.
Consultant Frost & Sullivan predicts that global spending on RFID hardware, software and related services will exceed £3.4bn in 2007.
Companies in the healthcare, logistics and retail sectors are expected to have the greatest demand for IT professionals with RFID qualifications.
