BEA is bundling Mercury’s diagnostic tools with the latest releases of its WebLogic Web application server and JRockit Java virtual machine. The combined products will help developers and testers find and fix application performance problems before apps are released for use.
BEA will make Mercury’s Diagnostics Profiler, which collects data available for free, but users requiring the full Mercury Diagnostics suite will have buy it.
As part of the deal Mercury can also distribute BEA’s JRockit Mission Control diagnostic toolset to Mercury Diagnostics users. The Mercury Diagnostics Profiler is now available with BEA’s WebLogic Server 9.0 and with JRockit JVM downloads.
Mercury will distribute BEA’s Mission Control tools as part of Mercury Diagnostics in the first quarter of next year.
