Business intelligence software firm Business Objects is enhancing the way its products present data by buying data visualisation software company Infommersion for around $40m (£23.5m).

Infommersion sells Xcelsius, an application that presents back-end business intelligence data as interactive charts, graphs and dashboards.

The solution can also package the data in various formats such as PDFs and PowerPoint files.
Business Objects expects to complete the acquisition of privately held Infommersion before the end of the year.
