StorageTek has introduced a new mainframe data storage solution that offers twice the capacity of previous offerings.

The new V2X4f system for mainframes is an addition to the FlexLine V-Series Shared Virtual Array (SVA) disk storage family, and offers twice the capacity and up to a 40% improvement in workload and response time performance over the existing V2Xf, said the company.

StorageTek said the V2X4f is suited for test and development, business continuity and disaster recovery applications.

Brenda Zawatski, StorageTek vice president and general manager for information lifecycle management solutions, said, “The V2X4f is one of several new product upgrades that we plan to unveil this year.”
