Doors open on Tube integration project

Tube Lines, the firm that is working with LondonUnderground to modernise lines under a PPP contract, is using Tibco Business Works to integrate 500 disparate systems into eight core systems as part of a project to help rebuild London Underground's busiest lines. The system will give managers a complete register of all assets on the lines and 100 stations maintained by Tube Lines.

Tube Lines, the firm that is working with LondonUnderground to modernise lines under a PPP contract, is using Tibco Business Works to integrate 500 disparate systems into eight core systems as part of a project to help rebuild London Underground's busiest lines. The system will give managers a complete register of all assets on the lines and 100 stations maintained by Tube Lines.

Diarmaid O'Tuathail, programme manager for the systems implementation project at Tube Lines, said, "The new integrated system improves our operations and project management, and will result in faster upgrades for the travelling public and more reliable services."

The Tibco software orchestrates different types of information flows between functions, including the web-based front end, fault reporting, and project and contract management.
