Eircom call centres to be run by Capita
Irish telecom company Eircom has awarded a £14m three-year outsourcing deal to services supplier Capita to provide managed call centre services for Eircom's outbound customer call centre in Dublin. It will take 200 staff, transferred under Tupe staff protection regulations.
Talisman SAP support contract goes to Absoft
The UK arm of the global oil and gas exploration company Talisman Energy has awarded a £500,000 two-phase SAP software support contract to Absoft, the Aberdeen-based SAP consultancy. The contract covers a range of services to support Talisman's new UK SAP system, which is due to go live in the first quarter of 2005.
Lewis's store is being served by Torex
Liverpool-based department store Lewis's has awarded a £275,000 five-year contract to retail technology provider Torex Retail. Torex will provide a KPos Computer Systems product with the Encore Windows Pos and back-office running on IBM servers and Surepos 500 tills.
Football fortunes lead to call centre contract
Freedom Communications has won a £30,000 contract to install a voice system and contact centre software at the Causeway Stadium in High Wycombe, home of Wycombe Wanderers Football Club and the London Wasps Rugby Football Club, to handle increased demand for tickets.
